Moving forward with Innosuisse

Abstract

Innosuisse is the Swiss Innovation Agency. As of 1st January 2018 it has taken over the CTI’s innovation promotion activities. Marc Pauchard, head of the Transversal Funding division of Innosuisse, is showing how Innosuisse is organized and how it supports joint innovation projects and start-up companies.

Bio

Dr. Marc Pauchard is head of the division transversal funding of Innosuisse, where he is responsible for Knowledge and Technology Transfer and International Support and Funding programs.

He studied Chemistry at the University of Fribourg (Switzerland) and received his PhD from the University of Berne in 2001. Until 2003 he then pursued his research career as Post-doc in the group of Prof. Alan J. Heeger (University of California Santa Barbara).

He then joined the R&D department of ILFORD Imaging Switzerland GmbH and was shortly after appointed as leader of the newly founded research section New Technology.

During his research career, he worked on inorganic/organic optical nano-materials and flexible films with applications ranging from decorative elements to security features, optical sensing, displays and illumination devices.

In 2009 he joined the newly founded Adolphe Merkle Institute at the University of Fribourg, where he helped establishing this nanotech center in the functions of associate director, head of administration and KTT responsible.

In the last 10 years, Marc Pauchard was dedicated to fostering innovation culture on a regional and national level. He was co-founder and co-president of the Association for Student Innovation supporting the creation of an interdisciplinary student community around innovation. He served as expert and leader of the "Transferkolleg" program of the Swiss Academy of Technical sciences, was funding member of the SeedCapital Foundation and still serves as member of the Jury of the Fribourg Innovation Prize.
